Hand-on Demonstration
In class, we will complete this demonstration. Some questions to ask yourself as you are completing it: what is going on inside the can? outside of the can? Why does the water inside the bowl have to be cold? What gas law does this demonstration follow? If you are having trouble figuring these questions out, ask yourself: what variables are staying constant? Which are changing?
If you are going to perform this demonstration at home, ask permission from your parents. If you bring in your own can to class, I can help you perform it after school. I have attached a lesson plan that has materials needed, etc; also, I am posting a Youtube video that demonstrates correct technique and a similar example of a 55 Gallon Drum example.
